At midnight on Wednesday 01 August 2007 the first ever Inter-Service Cross Channel Relay Race began. In a unique race across the English Channel 4 teams battled it out to win the first ever CHANNEL EAGLE TROPHY.
Starting 10 hours before the race even began and not ending until the all boats were in, the Channel Eagle website was regularly updated. We had more than 5000 hits throughout the race, with watchers from all over the world following our progress.

The event attracted media interest as a four boat race had never been attempted before.
The military press have also covered the relay race.
With video footage taken throughout the day and a live interview that evening, BBC Kent gave us a feature item on the main evening news programme.
Coverage by Soldier Magazine and a number of Regimental magazines is to come.
DiabetesUK, one of our charities, has an article on it’s website and in the most recent September Issue of it’s magazine, Balance.
